There are warnings of ice across the UK, as snow continues to cause disruption in parts of the country.
Freezing temperatures are set to continue into Saturday, while forecasters warn of further snow for northern England and southern Scotland.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of ice, meaning take extra care, across many parts of the UK.
In addition, rain and melting snow are expected to lead to rising water levels in rivers in south-west England.
The Environment Agency has three flood warnings in place.
Forecasters are also warning of heavy rain in south-west, central, northern and western England, Northern Ireland, eastern Wales and the southern half of Scotland during Thursday and Friday which, combined with snow melt, could cause flooding.
On Wednesday, major snowfall and ice caused major problems in the many parts of Devon.
On the A38, Haldon Hill and Telegraph Hill near Exeter were "border-line impassable", while a woman was rescued from Dartmoor after being trapped in the snow for three hours.
In Pembrokeshire, a school bus taking 40 pupils home slid off the road but no-one was hurt. The head teacher said conditions were "probably the worst" he had seen in 25 years.
In other developments:
- Flights at Heathrow have returned to normal, after days of cancellations
- Snow is still bringing some hazardous driving conditions in west Wales, including on the A40 at Whitland in Carmarthenshire. More than a quarter of schools in Wales - 475 - were closed on Wednesday
- So far in Wales, 32 schools have closed on Thursday, including in Blaenau Gwent, Cardiff, Caerphilly, Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Swansea, Torfaen and Pembrokeshire
- An igloo for sale in Harrogate, which is being auctioned on ebay to raise funds for charity, has so far reach a price of £715
