A memorial to the moment on Christmas Day in World War One when British and German soldiers stopped fighting and played football is to be dedicated later by the Duke of Cambridge.
England manager Roy Hodgson will join Prince William, the Football Association president, at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
The Football Remembers memorial honours the 1914 Christmas Truce.
It was designed by a schoolboy after a UK-wide competition.
Ten-year-old Spencer Turner from Farne Primary in Newcastle will be introduced to Prince William at the ceremony. The duke and England forward Theo Walcott selected his design following a competition involving more than 30,000 schools.
FA chairman Greg Dyke and representatives from the Premier League, Football League and the British Council will also attend the dedication.
A Christmas kick-about?
A series of other events this month are taking place to remember the truce that took place in no-man's land on the Western front nearly 100 years ago.
Last weekend, clubs involved in all professional leagues took a series of joint team photos to honour the way the British and German forces came together on the day.
Schools and workplaces across the UK along with British military bases and embassies globally are participating in event by taking their own team photos.
This weekend young players from the nations involved in World War One will travel to Flanders fields to compete in the Premier League Christmas Truce International Tournament. And on 17 December, the British Army will take on the German Army in a match at Aldershot Town.
