Space drama Gravity leads the way at this year's Baftas, scoring 11 nominations including best film and best British film.
Sandra Bullock is also up for best actress, while Alfonso Cuaron is nominated for best director.
Slavery drama 12 Years a Slave landed 10 nods, including best film, director and actor for Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony at London's Royal Opera House on 16 February.

American Hustle is also listed in 10 categories, with recognition for Amy Adams and Christian Bale in the best actress and actor categories.
And the nominations saw Dame Judi Dench set a Bafta record, with her 15th acting nomination.
The nod, for her role in Philomena, puts her one ahead of Meryl Streep, who was overlooked in the best actress category for August: Osage County.
Monday saw Bafta announce the five young actors nominated for this year's Rising Star award.
12 Years a Slave actress Lupita Nyong'o will compete against Blue is the Warmest Colour star Lea Seydoux and Sunshine on Leith's George MacKay.
Will Poulter from We're the Millers and Kill Your Darlings actor Dane DeHaan complete the list.
