Boy, 2, falls from hotel balcony

A two-year-old boy has suffered serious head injuries falling from a mezzanine balcony into the lobby of a hotel.

The toddler was taken to hospital following the fall at about 16:00 BST on Saturday at the Hilton hotel in Thomas Steers Way, Liverpool.

A hotel spokesman said staff administered first aid before paramedics and the police arrived.

Merseyside Police said the boy remains in a "serious condition".
