A murder inquiry has been launched after the death of an 18-year-old man in a stabbing in north London.
The man, who has not been named, died after being stabbed in Wood Green, Metropolitan Police said.
He is believed to be the 19th person to die following a violent attack in the UK already this year, and the ninth in London alone.
His death follows that of Bilal Mirza, also 18, who was stabbed in Salisbury Street, Marylebone, on Thursday night.
Officers were called at around 16:15 GMT on Friday to Maryland Road, Wood Green, following reports of a fight and a person armed with a knife.
They found a 19-year-old man with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where he is described as in a serious but stable condition.
Police were also alerted to an 18-year-old man who had attended a north London hospital with knife wounds. He subsequently died and the 19 year-old was arrested on suspicion of his murder.
Next of kin have not yet been informed and a post-mortem examination and formal identification will be scheduled in due course, police said.
